Barbara Ellerman

January 30, 1948 - July 14, 2024

76, of Mechanicsville, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Keister and Irene Conner; sister, Pat Conner; sisters-in-law, Anne Mack and Karen Ellerman Phillips; brothers-in-law, Ed Mack and Aubrey Friedhoff; and niece, Leslie Quinn. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Derek Ellerman; daughter, Tracy Ellerman; son, Michael Ellerman; grandsons, Zachary and Nicholas Ellerman; siblings, Bonnie Friedhoff, Pete Tillman (Linda), Joan Conner, and Billy Conner (Donna); sister-in-law, Laurie Quinn (Kelly); and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Barbara was a beach lover, Lego fanatic, and could often be found watching tennis or reading a good book. She had a great sense of humor, loved her friends and family, and loved spoiling her kids and grandkids.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 6 p.m. at Monaghan Funeral Home, 7300 Creighton Pkwy Mechanicsville, VA 23111, with a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Hanover Humane Society, or to Operation First Responder.

I was saddened to learn of Barbara´s passing. We worked together at Virginia Mutual. She was a great coworker and a true friend. I am praying for peace and comfort for her family today and the days to come.
