Bart and I attended Lee Davis High School together. He was a year ahead of me and quite popular. Bart and his best friend Mark Fuller were always together. I think they ever joined the US service together. Both of them were so nice and never let the popularity go to their heads.
It was a tradition to paint the oil drum at Lee Davis with the graduating class´s remembrance symbols each year. It never looked pretty so every year after graduation, it was repainted in plain silver. Bart and Mark were artists. They painted so pretty with their artistry that my class just didn´t have the heart to paint over it. It was left as they painted it til the paint was peeling off. The oil drum was Bart and Mark´s Legacy. Mark passed before Bart and it was devastating to Bart. I see them together again now enjoying themselves again. Y´all have a good time through eternity guys. I miss you both.

I will always remember the famous oil drum you and Mark Fuller painted the year you graduated from Lee Davis back in 1965. My class didn´t have the heart to paint over it as was the tradition back then because it was so pretty. You were a good friend, Bart. I will miss you. Rest In Peace.
