Rita,
I was so very sorry to learn of the passing of your son. You was just talking about him in the hair salon a few weeks ago. I know he was so dear to your heart. Just remember that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can not heal.

Our hearts go out to you in your time of sorrow.
"What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that your gone, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget."

I had the pleasure of meeting Brandon at Liberty Middle School several years ago.
He was a remarkable young man. Always very positive and always had the broadest smile on his face.
He did not let anything get the best of him.
He really touched the hearts of all who came in contact with him.
I just learned of his passing a few minutes ago. Would have attended the service had I known. It is going on as I type this.
God has added a special person to his Kingdom.
RIP in peace Brandon and thanks for sharing your love with all of us.

Sincerely,
Sub at LMS

Dear Henderson Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss for your family. Brandon was the happiest young man I ever knew. I waited each morning in the PH office to hear his wheelchair coming up the hallway to help with 1st block. I know Brandon is in Heaven whole, healed and complete. Doing things he could not do here.
I know your hearts are broken, but I know that God will comfort you and hold you close to him as you mourn through this time. I will miss Brandon and his beautiful smile and his sweet voice asking me "Do you have passes yet?" or "Welcome to Patrick Henry, can I help you?" He would ask people coming into the office that needed help. PH halls and our office will not be the same without Brandon. He was loved by many and touched more lives here then we will ever know. Brandon, Mrs. Lynne will miss you. I love you man.

I was sorry to hear of the loss of Brandon...I didn't know him but I knew of him and every time I saw him he always had a smile on his face...So I know he is in heaven smiling down on each and everyone of you so let not your hearts be trouble for god is with you.

And A Child Shall Lead Them....
One of the memories that is always shared with me regarding Brandon is how he would visit my mom (Aunt Adele) and at the end of the visit he would lead everyone to pray for her. My mom would always say that Brandon was wise, spiritual and compassionate beyond his years and I truly believe that GOD gave Brandon to this world to teach others how to live and love better.
I have no doubt that Brandon is sitting on the side of GOD, praying for all of his family (God was preparing him for this all of his life)
To Rita, Noonie and the rest of the family...May your memories and your faith get you through this extremely difficult time. Remember, GOD makes NO mistakes
Brandon and his Aunt Adele are in heaven making preparations for us all.

I taught Brandon at South Anna Elementary School for several years. He most certainly left his mark on my life, and my heart is heavy with the news of his death. Right now, one of my favorite memories is of him singing "Lean on Me," as he smiled that great big grin of his.
I believe he walks freely in heaven and now lives without pain or limitations.
Brandon used to talk about being a DJ on the radio or at weddings and parties. I don't know if there are DJs in heaven, but if there are, I know he's the best!
Your little man touched many lives in a big way, and he brought joy and taught compassion to those around him.
May the grace of God and the love of friends and family carry you through your time of grief.

Sincerely,

William Noel, Sr.

To the Henderson family,

Young people like Brandon are extremely rare. He was the most pleasant young man I have ever met. There were days at Patrick Henry High that I would seek him out just to see his smile and to hear him say, “Good Morning, Mr. Noel”. He was truly an inspiration to everyone who came in contact with him. I will miss him more than I could ever adequately express in words. I believe in heaven, and I believe he is there, walking around sharing his smile and kind words. GOD bless you & keep you.

Sincerely,
William T. Noel, Sr.

I taught Brandon in the preschool class at South Anna Elementary when he was just 3 and 4 years old. I'll always remember his smiling face and the fun times we had in preschool. He worked hard and was a real trooper, although he didn't always like his therapy sessions! He touched so many lives at South Anna over the years he was there and I feel so fortunate to have been a part of his life. He was so adorably cute! I hope all the memories of Brandon will bring you comfort now and in the future.

To the Henderson family, I knew Brandon from Patrick Henry High School. I am the field hockey coach and we were a part of the PH Promise program and had an activity with Brandon and his peers last fall. I know he had a great time with us in hitting the ball around. I also wrote early release passes every other morning and when I was finished, Brandon and a couple other students delivered those passes to the students. Although I did not know him well, he always had a smile for me when I said "Good Morning" to him or when I saw him in the halls to say hello. I am so sorry for your loss. He was a sweet child. Please know I am praying for you and your family in this difficult time. May God be with you now in your time of sorrow.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Brandon was in my son, Matthews, class at Liberty and Patrick Henry. He always brightened my day when I saw him. He just had such a presence. I hope your family knows that he had such an impact on this community. In his short life he touched more lives than most of us ever will. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Noonie and Rita, I can only hope that the love I could see that you all had for Brandon in caring for him and being so ready to do whatever he needed you to do for him my daughters can see in me. The way you raised Brandon and cared for him is the way every parent should be towards their children. May his memories that you carry comfort the both of you. Stay blessed and stay with God.

To the Henderson Family,
Brandon will be missed. He was a very special person to me. I will remember the good times at South Anna Elementary School and times when I would see him out in public. Brandon was always a happy young man. I can still see his big smile. I loved listening to him sing "That Little Light Of Mind". He would sing it with all his heart. I want the Henderson family to know that you all will be in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this sad time. May God Bless You!!!!

Rita and Noonie I am so very sorry for your loss.

And so while the believers body lay quietly here, be assured the believer is still alive; Rejoicing in Heaven as, Gods son promised!

Jesus said unto her I am the resurrection and the life; He that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
