We always looked forward to Callie's sometimes surprise "brief" visits that somehow turned into delightful lengthy conversations. Nevertheless, Callie's car engine kept running in the meantime. How we shall miss her unique personality! Don and Anna Margaret

It´s a rare moment when angels live with us humans on earth and Callie was one of those. We met when she was a secretary of biomedical engineering at MCV/VCU in the mid 90s. I was a struggling student, riding steeplechase horses and no matter what she was there to support whether we were sharing the rare moment in a winners circle are covered in mud, blood, and grass stains, which has a lot of the time. Either way when you´re around Callie, you were in the winners circle.
One way we knew she was an angel is she had more positive energy than any human can muster and put life, love and fun and the Holy Spirit in everything she did. As we say in the horse world, she never put a foot wrong to me. She was a mother friend and lifted me up on wings of eagles because of her I was able to get patients on my research work, make two different sports on the US team survive the politics and become a much better person. Don´t know would´ve been without her. She was light in my darkest moments and a pair of sunglasses when it got too bright, keeping me grounded in her own special way. I write this with tears in my eyes as I was not there and never knew she passed, because she was always the one that kept up with you. Make sure you´re doing OK now she´s gone and we know she´s going to a much better place that she is well deserved and she´s probably running things up there. Thank you for the memories and the times we worked at BME, rode, foxhunted, the invites to the hunt balls, and hundred paces and race days and the whole time keeping me grounded and uplifting everyone around you. These are only words and the feeling of not seeing, talking with you and your presence breaks my heart and to think of what your family is going through without you is beyond imaginable. This is how much you are loved by everyone that ever knew you. And thank you for being there. Michael.

Shannon, Garreth, Bill and Callie´s family....
Callie was the most vibrant, joyous, and loyal person to all she met. She loved her family fiercely and I know how hard her passing will affect all of them. She was a local face around Bon Air and made friends easily. We will all miss her inward and outward (physical) beauty she maintained all her life. She will be especially missed by many in my family especially by my daughter, Kris Dillingham Sardella of Niskayuna NY, who considered Shannon her best friend since high school, and Kris´s daughter, Anne Marie Sardella, who loved Shannon as much for her tricks and playfulness while at the beach. Shannon inherited much of that playfulness and love from Callie. God bless you all in your sorrow, and by remembering the "fun Callie," such sorrow will be short lived.
In loving memory, Connie Dillingham
