Camilla Moffatt Obituary

Camilla Moffatt

Camilla Hyde Moffatt died on October 13, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Camilla Hyde, and by her husband of 67 years, Carlton Page Moffatt, Jr. Born and raised in Richmond, Camilla attended St. Anne's School in Charlottesville and was graduated from St. Catherine's School. She attended Mount Vernon College and The Garland School in Boston where she studied design. She especially loved her time in Charlottesville and Boston.

Camilla was an active member of numerous community institutions and organizations, including the Tuckahoe Garden Club, the Junior League, the Colonial Dames, the Council of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Country Club of Virginia, and a lifelong member of St. James's Episcopal Church. She was a gifted flower arranger and judged flower shows for the Garden Club of Virginia. Camilla was an avid tennis and bridge player and loved her book club. She and Carlton traveled extensively throughout Europe and enjoyed many cruises. The highlights of every year were a summer trip to Wrightsville Beach and spending Christmas at The Homestead with her family.

Camilla is survived by her son, Page (Carolyn); her daughter, Cam; and grandchildren, Sam, Liza, and Cate. The Moffatts are extremely grateful to Johnna Bailey for her support and care for Camilla and the entire family.

A graveside service will take place at Hollywood Cemetery on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 12 p.m. Donations in Camilla's memory may be made to St. James's Church or Historic Richmond.
