Carol Seay

1954 - 2025

Elizabeth "Carol" Johnson Seay passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at 71 years old.

Born on July 12, 1954, in Salzburg, Austria, to Mary Estelle Tyndall and Johnny James Johnson, Carol grew up in Colonial Heights, Virginia, where she attended Colonial Heights High School. She later lived in Houston and Fort Worth, Texas, before returning to her home state of Virginia, settling in Midlothian.

Carol will be remembered for her carefree spirit, quick wit, tender heart, and unforgettable home cooking. She had a gift for genuinely connecting with everyone she met and deeply cared about the people in her life. She enjoyed making life sentimental, sharing handwritten cards, food, or small gifts for every occasion. She loved music, her pets, and above all, her family. Carol cherished living in the moment, making people smile, and having fun, often bringing tears of laughter to those around her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Jeffrey Milton Seay; daughter, Brooke Ashley Burt; son, Hunter James Seay (Olivia Baez Seay); and cherished grandson, Julian Elliot Safley. She is also survived by her sister, Patsy Johnson Arnett (Bruce Randall Arnett), her brother, Joseph Wayne Johnson, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny James Johnson, Jr. and Mary Estelle Tyndall Johnson, as well as her brother, David Ray Johnson.

A private graveside service will be held in Roseboro, North Carolina, with a Celebration of Life for friends and family to follow in Richmond, Virginia. For details on attending, please contact the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Ellen Weaver, Carol's beloved caretaker, whose unwavering love and compassion were a blessing in her final years.

Carol's legacy lives on in the laughter, love, and cherished memories of all who knew her.
