JOHNSON, Carolyn H., of North Chesterfield, Va., 78, passed peacefully from her earthly home into her heavenly home on November 20, 2021, under the care of Virginia Hospice surrounded by her family at home. Carolyn was educated in the Richmond Public School System. She was part owner of Del-Carol Hair Salon for many years, later owner of the Nu-Begining at House of ROZ hair salon until she retired. She leaves behind a legacy of four children, Kiel, Kenneth Jr. (Rose), Felicia Carter and Charlene Swinson; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Carolyn loved being with family, always hosting family dinners during the holidays, spending quality time with her grandchildren and nieces shopping. She became a mother, caregiver, personal friend to so many in her lifetime. Carolyn was a member of the 31st Street Baptist Church, where she obtained her spiritual growth, and served the Lord in Community and within the various ministries of the church until her illness prevailed. To know her was to love her; her faith and stregnth never wavered from the Lord's will. Surviving siblings: one sister, Mable Carter; four brothers, Alvin (Cynthia), Herbert (Wanda), Michael (Ruth Ann) and Warren Braxton; sisters-in-law, Lucretia, Andrea, Annette Braxton; two brothers-in-law, Randy Kenney Sr., Nathaniel Hall; and hosts of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hezekiah Sr. and Hortense Braxton; sisters, Elsie Hall and Sandra Kenney; brothers, Ervin, Hezekiah Jr., Norman, Linwood and Ryland Braxton. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Virginia Hospice for their caregivers and a special thank you to granddaughter, Tanisha Carter and nephew, Warren Braxton Jr. for your dedication and support. In honoring Carolyn's wishes, there will not be a memorial service. Please continue to pray and lift the family up during this time of bereavements. 2 Timothy 6:6-7, "For I am already being poured out like a drink offering and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord, The righteous Judge will award me."
