Carolyn Lee Satterwhite

1950 - 2023

Carolyn Lee Satterwhite, 73, of Goochland, Virginia, passed away on July 15, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Allen and Bernice Moss Allen, her sisters Edna West, Bernice Berkley, Thelma Allen, Joyce Dabney, and Doris Markovich, and her brothers Fred Allen and Joseph Allen, and her husband Wayne Satterwhite. She is survived by her two daughters, Emily Gitchell and Cathy Dancy. Carolyn worked as a waitress at Friendly's, Nick's Roman Terrace, Shoney's, and the Mechanicsville Drug Store, and was a lifetime member of Gum Spring United Methodist Church. Carolyn was always smiling and had an infectious laugh that many will always remember. She was blessed to have many friends at Legacy @ Imperial Village and at the other places that she lived. The last couple of years at Legacy @ Imperial Village, Carolyn went on many trips with her friends and truly enjoyed every event. We all feel such a loss knowing that we will not hear that laugh or see that smile for a while, but we are excited to know that she is in Heaven and will be there to welcome us when our time comes. Meanwhile, she is rejoicing with her parents, siblings, friends, and her loving husband. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 30th at 3pm at Legacy @ Imperial Village located at 1717 Bellevue Avenue, Richmond, VA in the Virginia & Richmond Room. Guests attending can park in the "leasing" parking area and come in the side door to access the room. The family would like to thank her doctors, the Memorial Regional Cancer floor nurses, her Legacy @ Imperial Village minister Dr. Acosta, and the Bon Secours Community Hospice House for taking care of Carolyn until she transitioned from here to Heaven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Bon Secours Community Hospice House (Midlothian, VA) who made her last days very peaceful.
