Catherine Melton Obituary

MELTON, Catherine "Ernie" Ernestine, age 85, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents; and she was the last of seven children. Ernie spent many years as a Floral Designer and retired from the profession. She was a faithful Christian and enjoyed traveling, gardening and sewing. She had great love for all of her family. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Billy W. Melton; sons, Joseph Inge (Pamela), Stephen Inge (Amy); and daughter, Mary Catherine Ashworth. She is also survived by Ronald and Steve Melton and their families; as well as her grandchildren, Ashley, Jason, Tori, Hailey, Chad, Brandon, Patricia, Becky, Josh and Kate; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service for Catherine will be held Friday, April 29, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005. Interment will follow at Winns Baptist Church, 12320 Winns Church Rd., Glen Allen, Va. 23059. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.NelsenAshland.com for the Melton family.
