Cecilia Scott Grantier

Cecilia Scott Grantier passed away October 25, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Cece was known for her quiet strength and generosity. She was born September 12, 1947, in Cleveland, OH. Her father Al Scott served in the US army and Cece always shared fond memories of a childhood spent in Japan and Germany along with other bases in the U.S. She excelled in her career in the banking industry where she was admired for her integrity, professionalism and care for both colleagues and clients. Outside of work, CeCe found joy in bringing people together. She and Barry enjoyed hosting weekend gatherings at Lake Gaston where her delicious salads and comfort food were a hit during those moments. Friends and family will remember her hospitality and the way she made everyone feel welcome.

Cece faced life's challenges with resilience and grace, even when burdened by the weight of declining health. She gave more of herself than most ever knew, and her quiet courage was a gift to all who loved her.

Cece is survived by her husband, Barry; stepchildren, Tracy (Andy) Hamilton, Chris (Tom) Patch, John (Kelly) Grantier; grandchildren, Megan, McKenna, Ella, Jack, George, and Jimmy; her mother, Janet Scott; her brother Dan (Linda) Scott, her sister Becky (Bob) O'Neal and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Lt. Col. Albert Scott, nephew Eric Shea and great nephew Justus Shea.

A celebration of Cece's life will be held November 8th at 2:00 PM at Branch's Baptist Church, 3400 Broad Rock Blvd., Richmond VA 23234. There will be a reception at the church after the service.
