Charley was a medical school classmate and lifelong friend of my father, Kelman Cohen. My favorite memories of him are when I was under the weather and he would tell my mother to wait on me hand and foot and give me whatever I requested. He and Midge celebrated with me at my wedding and Charley made a beautiful frame for a piece of mirror salvaged from my childhood home in Richmond as well as a matching frame for our wedding invitation.
Charley's larges also extended to my daughter, Hannah, when he wrote a wonderful letter on her behalf for her application to Davidson. While her college choice was ultimately the University of Maryland, Hannah and I will always treasure the time, love, and attention he extended to her.
The world has lost one of the greats. Charley was as exceptional as they can be.
