Charles Rash Obituary
February 6, 1936 - March 20, 2025
Charles Walthall Rash ("Chuck"), 89, of Mechanicsville, VA, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on March 20, 2025.
Chuck lived a life full of wit, joy, and determination, spreading smiles with his quick humor and zest for life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Franklin Rash and Rosalyn Vaughn Rash, as well as his brother, Robert F. Rash. Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 55 wonderful years, Judy Lee Allen Rash; his devoted children, Brandon (Sarah), Brad (Carrie), and Julianne Fisher (Chase); and his adored grandchildren, Charlie, Katie, William, Jacob, Logan, James Rash, along with Brooke, Summer and Auggie Fisher. Chuck is also survived by his loving nephews Mark and Scott, and nieces Wanda and Brittany, who all hold special memories of his warmth and humor.
Chuck proudly served as a Marine and went on to build a dedicated career in management at Sears before retiring. But his heart truly came alive outdoors, whether by the water, on the Allen farm in Tennessee, or participating in 10K's which showcased his spirited nature and love of life. Chuck also treasured his moments at Cool Spring Recreation Center, where he was a friendly and familiar face, often seen walking laps on the track while laughing and connecting with the community around him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m., at Cool Spring Baptist Church, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cool Spring Recreation Center or the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Chuck's legacy of community and kindness.
