Rev. Charles Allen Wells, Jr.

Rev. Charles Allen Wells, Jr. passed away February 26, 2025.

He is predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Jane Via Wells, parents Charles Wells and Sara Chappell Wells, and son-in-law Alan Gibson.

He is survived by his children, Laura Gibson, Lisa Hicks (Rod), Chip Wells (Wendy), eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Allen attended Averett College and Bluefield College prior to serving two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He completed his degree at Univ. of Richmond followed by seminary at Wake Forest, and pastored churches in Southeast and Central Virginia for the next two decades. Always the life of the party, he loved fully and was equally loved in return.

A Celebration of Life and reception following will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at Berea Baptist Church, 15421 Pouncey Tract Rd. Rockville, VA. A private burial will follow at a later date.
