Christopher Clary Obituary

Christopher Newton Clary, 41, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away December 6, 2002 after a long illness of cancer. He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Nancy Clary of Amelia. Chris was employed as President's Office Manager for the Santa Fe Institute and taught business classes at Los Alamos Community College. Previous employments include Confidential Assistant to the White House, U.S. Congress Office of Technology Assessment, and Los Alamos National Labs. Chris graduated from Amelia County High School, attended Shenandoah Conservatory of Music, Virginia Commonwealth University where he received a BS in Business Administration and received his MBA degree from the College of Sante Fe. He loved music and while in high school and college, he played the piano and organ at his church in Amelia. This continued in Santa Fe where he was the substitute organist and lector at St. Bede Episcopal Church. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas A. (Tony) and Pam Clary; a niece and her husband, Clara C. and Shawn Terry; a grand-nephew, Cassidy; a grand-niece, Sierra Noelle, all of Amelia; a special aunt, Virginia Perry Jones of Colonial Heights; and a very special friend, Raymond Becich of Santa Fe. There will be a memorial service at Trinity United Methodist Church in Amelia on December 29, 2002 at 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends at their home, 16236 Dunn St., Amelia, Virginia.

I still remember Chris from our years at OTA. He was a witty and kind person. I still enjoy the autographed photo of Socks, Chris.
