Clara Mayer Moore

Clara Mayer Moore, 83, of Varina, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 1, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Thomas R. Moore; her daughter, Dayle Winslow; her son, Claude Mayer; her stepchildren, Pat Dudley, Thomas Moore Jr., David Moore and Edward Moore; four grandchildren, Lisa Mayer, Shannon Bennett, Patrick Ritger, and Ben Mayer; seven great-grandchildren, many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Mrs. Moore was a retired employee with the City of Richmond, Social Services, a member of the Varina Woman’s Club, and the Battlefield Park Homemakers Club. She also did volunteer work at Baker Elementary School in the children’s reading program. Remains rest at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where the family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Four Mile Creek Baptist Church, where Mrs. Moore was an active member. Interment church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Four Mile Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.
