Clarine Wilkinson Reekes

REEKES, Clarine Wilkinson, 95, of Powhatan, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2022. Clarine was pre-deceased by her husband, Thomas Reekes; her twin sister, Christine Grubb; and her nephew, Johnny Grubb. She is survived by her daughters, Patti Cole of Powhatan and Rhonda Cafazza (John) of Midlothian; grandchildren, Kim Goff (Patrick), Anna McChesney (Greg) and Sarah Berry (Andy); great-grandchildren, Camden McChesney, Kate Goff, Anthony McChesney, twins, Zachary Goff and Tucker Goff, Noah Berry and Carter Berry; her sister, Phyllis Basl (Ed); and several nieces. A graduate of Manchester High School, Clarine attended Mary Washington College, where she was a member of the choir. She studied voice and sang in Richmond Choral Society and various Richmond churches. Clarine was past president of McGuire Circle Woman's Club and served on the board for 30 years. Clarine and her husband enjoyed many years of camping throughout the U.S. in their RV. During her later years, Clarine's days were filled with coloring and spending time with her great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Maury Cemetery on February 22 at 2 p.m. Family will receive friends at The Charter House Clubhouse at The Villages at Charter Colony on February 22, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bon Secours Community Hospice House, American Cancer Society, or church of your choice.
