Constance Gail Asher Hipolit

Constance Gail Asher Hipolit passed away at her home in Falls Church, VA, on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the age of 73, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Connie, as she was known to many, was born in Elmira, NY, on December 13, 1951, the daughter of John W. and Jean F. (Ackerson) Asher. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Richard "Dick" J. Hipolit; her daughter, Melissa J. Hipolit with husband John Ralston, of Richmond, VA; and her son, John Andrew Hipolit, of Washington, DC; grandchildren, Bryce Ralston, Teddy Ralston, and Jack Ralston, of Richmond; siblings, David Asher, of Horseheads, NY, John Asher (Susan), of Elgin, SC, and Marianne Cain (Mike), of Elmira, NY. Connie was a 1970 graduate of Elmira Free Academy, and she graduated from the University of Rochester in 1974. Connie worked as a paralegal before pursuing her dream of raising a family in the City of Falls Church. She called the days when her kids were young the "halcyon" days and experienced those days again when she became a grandmother. Connie was an avid volunteer with Falls Church City Public Schools and served on their Gifted and Talented Committee, a piano accompanist for the Women's Ensemble in college, a devoted "Nini" to her grandsons, and a fitness enthusiast who particularly enjoyed exercise classes at the Falls Church Community Center. She loved to travel, especially to her beloved Keuka Lake, the Sanderling in Duck, NC, New York City, and New England. A special thank you to Dr. Edward Tanner with Johns Hopkins Medicine and Dr. Danijela Jelovac with Virginia Cancer Specialists for their efforts to extend Connie's life.

Family, friends, and friends of the family are invited to a Memorial Service at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Richmond, VA, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. Donations in memory of Connie may be directed to Tina's Wish to help fund research to find an early, effective screen for ovarian cancer.
