Mrs. Cordelia Lavinia Knox Powell, 104, widow of Mr. Victor R. Powell, of Boydton, Virginia, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of Thursday, October 30, 2025.
Born on September 17, 1921, in Emporia, Va., she was the beloved daughter of Lavinia Jackson and Moses H. Knox. Mrs. Powell was cherished by her family, friends, and community for her warmth, grace, and steadfast spirit.
Public viewing will be held Thursday, November 13 from 2 to 6 p.m., at the funeral home. The celebration of life service in her honor will be held 11 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2025, at C.H. Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Buffalo Junction, Va. Burial will follow on Monday Nov.17, at the Knox Family Cemetery, Purdy, Va.
