David Booth Obituary

David Alexander Booth

December 12, 1982 - May 1, 2025

David Alexander "Alex" Booth, age 42, of Richmond, Va. passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia McNeil Booth; his maternal grandmother, Barbara McNeil; and his paternal grandmother, Jacquelin Bowles.

He is survived by the love of his life, Amy Kincaid; his bonus children, Hunter and Caitlyn Taylor (grandpup Doctor Pepper); his father, Steven Booth (Janis Grimes); his brother, Patrick Booth; his uncle, David Booth; his aunt, Jackie Spears (Bob); his niece, Jordan Wills and her children, Jayla and Jayleigh; his best friend/brother, Steve-O; and countless members of his chosen family.

Alex had a love for music and was an incredibly talented drummer as inspired by his loving uncle, David, for whom he was named. He recently gave his life to Christ and found a new love for playing worship music. He was a devoted partner, father, Pippie, and friend with an infectious smile and a charm that would capture a room. Alex battled a lifelong mental health and substance abuse disorder and while the last years were spent in recovery through the work of Jesus, he continued to fight battles. God has called him home to live in paradise and perfection.

A memorial service will be held at Thrive Church on Friday, May 30, at 12 noon for all who want to attend to celebrate the life of this wonderful man. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Celebrate Recovery C/O Thrive Church, 7211 Iron Bridge Road, Richmond, VA 23234.

This is not goodbye, it´s I´ll see you later! There is no greater comfort than knowing that Alex is in heaven. Being there for his baptism was the best gift ever. The memories and love that we shared are unmatched and I am forever blessed to have been his forever love and best friend .
