As a guidance counselor at Bethel High School, I come in contact with several students a day whether it is my counselees, random students stopping by to say hello, or dealing with the NCAA(sports). To walk through the halls during the day and see so many smiling faces is a wonderful feeling, but one that sticks to my mind is seeing David. No matter what is going on his life, he always finds a way to make others smile. He was a great son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed at Bethel. I have had the opportunity to talk with several of his friends over the week and getting to know things about him that I did not know has put a smile on my face and helped to cheer me up. To his parents-you did a wonderful job-it is rare to find a child who has so much support in his life these days and David was fortunate to have that. He will be greatly missed by all and remember, He is still playing soccer and making others smile with his presence in his new home-he will never be forgotten and always loved! We will all get through this and David will make sure of that. Keep smiling because that is what he would have wanted.

Dear Robyn and family,

I want to extend our heartfelt sympathy in the tragic loss of your son. Unfortunately, your are having to experience every parent's nightmares. I cannot even begin to imagine what you are going through. David sounded like a wonderful young man...one to be be very proud of. I, too, have 16 and 9 year old boys who are very active in sports. Each time they are on the football or baseball field, a little prayer for a safe game is always said. God must have needed David for "His team"! Remember that through God all things are possible. Lean on Him for your strength. May God Bless you and your family at this time.

Love, Your childhood friend from Boykins, Barbette McDowell Porter and family

Dear Robyn and family,

We are heartbroken about your lost. We remember David as a sweet loving boy. How proud we all were when he and his fellow cubs earned "the fireman's chit". We sure did have a wonderful time in scouts. Robyn, you were an excellent Den Mom. Our love and sympathy go out to you at this time. May you always know that you are loved and cared for by the Belvin Family and our Lord.

Robin and Dennis, we are so sorry for your loss. David was a great young man and a joy to be around. Coaching him, playing with and against him he was always focused on the game. The world is a little dimmer today with him gone.

To the Pickeral Family,

I do not know you personally but I would like to let you know that you are in my thoughts. I have a son that plays soccer and has such a passion for the game. From reading about your son, I know you must be very proud. I am so, so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you all. I have lost two family members over the past year and I know how badly your heart aches. Just remember, whatever God brings us to, he will bring us through. Surround yourself with friends and family and know that your son is in such a wonderful place now. Let the beautiful memories carry you on. I feel so sorry for you as a mother and I wish I could help to support you. Please know that all of the soccer world thinks of you and sends our deepest sympathy.

The Pickeral family became a presence in our lives when David was a young boy playing baseball. My son Nick watched and learned as father and son showed a group of boys what being a team was all aobut. In recent years, my son Ryan had the pleasure and priveledge of sharing the soccer field with David. And now as a young man David inspired his teammates to be the best in all they do. What an AWESOME individual David was and will continue to be in our memories and hearts. What wonderful parents David was blessed to share his life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, family and friends.

David's life, spirit and wonderful personality is a true tribute to your parenting. Although we think his time was short, his life was full and complete because of the love and guidance you gave. I honestly believe, that although I hurt for you and can't imagine what you are feeling, that he fulfilled his purpose. His life will impact others for years and years to come. Not only his peers but all the children at FJLC. I pray for God's strenght and peace for you. But know that you served David well.

I would like to send my condelsence to the friends and family of David. Even though I've never had the pleasure to meet him I've heard great things. I will pray for your family that you will get through this hard time. God has a purpose for everything that He does. You might not understand it at the time but He does it for a reason. Just have faith and God will help you through this hard time.

Our prayers are with you during this difficult time. David's time was short but I know he made a greater impact on everyone he came in contact with than most do in a life time. David shared a love for soccer that few can appreciate and he was able to accomplish much due to the loving support of his family who were always present and involved. Our son Shawn spent many happy times with Adam and David as they shared their love for soccer and life that will not be forgotten. Our thoughts are with you.

Having known David through various soccer teams for the past several years I am deeply saddened by this loss. David was a wonderful kid who had become a fine young man. His loss is a great loss to us all. I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to his entire family.

May David rest in peace.

David was such a role model for both Alyson and Ashley in a sport they love so much. They cherish the time he spent with them both on the soccer field at FJLC and as a counselor. We are all deeply saddened by this tragedy.

THANK YOU David for being such a wonderful role model for young children and for young soccer players.

Even though I did not know David, I would like to express my condolences to all his friends and family. I was the first captain of the Bethel High School Soccer team when soccer became a varsity sport in 1978. David and I surely experienced the same beautiful spring weather and the same great people that make Hampton a wonderful place. He certainly must have been a very inspirational person and his spirit will live on the hearts and souls of those who knew him. Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

We are truly saddened by the sudden passing of " Mr. David" as my daughter Skyler called him. She was very fond of him and will miss him terribly as he was a wonderful role model for her, and so many children as he watched over them, at FJLC. He was an angel here to so many of us as he is now in heaven.

May the Lord Bless his family and comfort them in there time of need.
