Deborah Coghill Obituary

COGHILL, Deborah "Debbie" Martin, 64, of Caret, Va., passed away at her home surrounded by friends and family on February 16, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Debbie spent her whole life in the community with friends who stayed by her side from grade school. Her career was spent in banking, where she developed many long-lasting memories and friendships. She was a lifelong member of Upper Essex Baptist Church. Debbie cherished her grandchildren and family, enjoying every minute she could find to spend with them. She was preceded in death by her father, James A. Martin; and brother, Dennis Martin. She is survived by her husband, Duane S. Coghill; mother, Bessie Gallagher; daughter, Jessica Revels and her husband, Craig; and son, Scott Coghill. Due to the COVID pandemic, a private service will be held in Upper Essex Baptist church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2021, but available to all on FM radio 88.7 in the church parking lot. An open graveside service in the cemetery will follow for anyone who feels comfortable to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Riverside Hospice, 289 Hospital Road, Tappahannock, Va. 22560; Upper Essex Baptist Church Operating Fund, P.O. Box 225, Caret, Va. 22436; or any charity of your choice. Arrangements by Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock.

I joined Southside Bank in 1995 and had the pleasure of working with Debbie until I retired. Not only was she a pleasure to work with, but when she took on a job, you know it would be done right! May she rest in peace.
