To Sheba (as well as other family and friends),
My condolences go out to each and everyone of you. I can't began to even understand the hurt you're feeling due to the loss of Derrick. I was not close to Derrick but came in contact with him at school. Just being at the funeral showed how blessed Derrick truly is...and how blessed all of you are to have had someone like him in your life. Everyone will be in my prayers...especially you Sheba. Grieving is a part of death. I pray the Lord gives you all enough strength to make it through this time of sorrow. I know Derrick is truly missed and as long as he has family and friends like you...HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

To the Burnett family my thoughts and prayers are with you. My deepest smpanthy is with Derrick's elementary friends/family we all had a wounderful childhood togerther.I will never forget all the the fun we had together like the Luray Caverns trip we took at JEB Stuart School. Derrick is now in a better place watching over us. May GOD be with everyone.

I don't know where to begin it's so much that can be said about him and what kind of man he was. I met Derrick through my kids father(Pink) and every since we became friends. Derrick was very funny and just love life. His kids meant the world to him and so did his friends.
Derrick will truly be missed by all that knew him. I will always remember the 3 musketeers Derrick, Rell and Pink

To the Burnett family, sisters, brothers, and other family members....Derrick will truly be missed, he was a character within himself with a smile to never be forgotten. Rest assured that Derrick is now in a safer place than you and I. He is watching over all of us now, smiling as he always did.

My prayers of peace goes out to all those who had an intimate relationship with Derrick. I'm sadden to say that I never knew Derrick, but met him on occassion. May his family and friends be comforted in knowing that though he is gone from your sights, your memories of him will never leave.
