Derrick Thomas Obituary
Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. followed by reflections until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Richmond. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 28 at Fifth Street Baptist Church, 2800 Third Ave. Richmond. Interment Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia. Please refer to scottsfuneralhome.com for livestreaming and in lieu of flowers information.

Dear Family, Derrick's life and friendship was dear to me. We talked and traveled quite a bit. He was always thoughtful, methodical and helpful. I really enjoyed being around him and will miss him tremendously. Keep praying and moving forward. May God Bless the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Derrick has always had a special place in my heart. We worked at Cowan & Owen many years ago. I had such respect for him professionally. Derrick always treated everyone with kindness. I loved his wit and that great laugh! He will live on forever in our memories!
