Donald Mossberger Obituary
Born on November 16, 1926 in North Baltimore, Ohio, he was the son of the late William D. and Elsie (Bishop) Mossberger.
On March 31, 1979, he married Elizabeth (Murtha) Mossberger. She survives.
Don graduated from Garrett High School, Garrett, Indiana, in 1944. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. He graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, in 1949 with a bachelor's degree in Economics. Don retired from the Baltimore & Ohio/Chesapeake & Ohio (Chessie System) Railroad after 37 years of service. After retirement, he volunteered at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond for 20 years.
Don was an avid reader, history buff and sports fan.
In addition to his wife; he is survived by his two daughters, Martha Jill (Wendell) Wilson and Jean (Jonathan) Cole; six grandchildren, Jason (Leanne) Wilson, Jonathan (Kathryn) Wilson, Julie (Patrick) Sommers, Sarah (Mark) Heier, Jennifer (Christopher) Cuddahy and Christopher (Emily) Cole; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a nephew, John Mossberger; and a niece, Janice Ryan.
Besides his parents; he was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha (Brandenburg) Mossberger; and a brother, Franklin D. Mossberger.
There will be no public service. Memorial donations may be made to the Tuckahoe Henrico County Public Library, 1901 Starling Drive, Henrico, Va. 23229.
