Donna Patterson McDonald, 77, of Poinciana, Florida, left us on December 17th. She passed due to heart and respiratory failure brought on by pneumonia. Donna was always an adventurous, fun-loving, and feisty soul with a kind and caring spirit.
Donna was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia to her parents Lewis and Dorothy Patterson and was loyal to her hometown regardless of where her life took her. After a whirlwind romance with M. Earle McDonald III, the two were married. They raised two sons in Connecticut where they made many friends and ultimately retired to Solivita in Central Florida.
Her fierce personality enabled her to overcome a lot in life, including multiple addictions, the death of her husband, and most recently in 2023 - breast cancer.
After working part-time off and on while being a full-time and exceptional homemaker, Donna was an active member of her community in all three states, volunteering at food banks, for her Solivita community, and participating in the Red Hats.
She is survived by her sons Earle (M. Earle IV) and Brian, her two daughters-in-law Danielle (Earle) and Linden (Brian), three beloved grandchildren, and her brother Michael Patterson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle, and her sister-in-law Shirley.
Services will be held on Monday, December 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Bliley's Funeral Home (Staples Mill location) followed by a burial at her husband's side at 12 noon at Westhampton Memorial Park. Viewings are on Sunday, December 29 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Bliley's Funeral Home. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation (moffitt.org/give).

I was so shocked to hear of Donna's passing. I was in Pittsburgh at the time. She was becoming a great friend at the time. Whenever I called to go to breakfast or lunch at the time, if she was feeling good at the time, she would be glad to go. Peace be with the family at this time.

McDonald Family, we send our condolences, we send our love and prayers during this difficult time of loss. I knew something wasn't right when we didn't receive your mom's Christmas card. She was a beautiful woman inside and out, so full of life with the biggest smile. We were blessed to get to know your mom and dad when they lived on Bugle Court. She loved her cruises, warm Florida weather and most of all her family. She is now reunited with the love of her life. May God Bless Your family, Love from the Lambdin Family
