Dora Crouch Obituary

CROUCH Dora (Billie) Britton Crouch, 95, of Mechanicsville, departed this life Thursday, March 15, 2007, to join her loved ones in heaven. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lewis L. Crouch and her granddaughter, Lori Crenshaw Cease. She is survived by her daughters, Frances C. LaVecchia and her husband, Bill of Henrico County and Patricia F. Crouch of Mechanicsville; great-granddaughter, Alison M. Cease and grandson-in-law, C. Michael Cease, both of Goose Creek, S.C. Survivors also include her nieces, Phyllis Lucord, Margaret Tate (and her husband, Joe), Lois Tyree, Sandra Saunders, and Bernice Griffith; nephews, Raymond Slater and Carlyle (Buck) Britton (and his wife, Doris); her nephew's widow, Frances T. Slater; sister-in-law, Margaret C. Martin (and her husband, Noel Lee); brother-in-law, Raymond R. Crouch (and his wife, Jean); many other nieces, nephews and extended family. Dora (Billie) and her special smile will be greatly missed by her family, dear friends, and neighbors. She was a faithful and active member of Fairmount United Methodist Church for 66 years. Her family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Road, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairmount United Methodist Church, 12 Bayard Road, Richmond, Va. 23223 or a charity of your choice.
