May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. I loved working with Dorothy on the usher board at Quiocassin Baptist Church & the trip she planned for the youth to go to The National Great Blacks in Wax Museum.

To The entire Carter Family: My Deepest Condolences! Personal memories of more than 25 years, the Carter Family was ALWAYS about Family. Mr. and Mrs. Carter made significant leadership- commitments to provide opportunities, assistance, and love to each person they could help. They were always examples of what Family could do when working Together. Forever grateful to ALL for being an important part of my personal life, and the lives of others in the Highland Springs Community. Mrs. Carter will always have A Heavenly Place in the hearts of ALL of Us. May she Rest in Peace.

I find myself at a loss for words as we bid farewell to a phenomenal woman who was not just my friend's mother, and my godchild's grandmother, but also a second mother and a friend to me. I loved and respected her dearly. She was a beacon of encouragement, always instilling confidence and a sense of pride in all who were around her. Her commitment to the community was unwavering, and her love knew no bounds. She was as funny as she was wise and always found ways to make me laugh. We already know her culinary skills are unmatched! Every moment with her felt like home, a warm and welcoming embrace that I will deeply miss. Mrs. Carter was the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman, exemplifying strength, virtue, wisdom, and love in every facet of her life. She was a shining of example of a mother and wife. Her devotion to Mr. Carter and her children was unconditional and endless. Remembering her today, and always, for the boundless love, wisdom, and kindness she showered upon us all. Rest in peace my dear. "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
Mr. Carter, Makeda, Aisha, Maurice, Nylla, grands, family and friends, my family shares in your heartbreak but we also celebrate the remarkable life of Mrs. Dorothy Carter. Thank you for sharing your gem with us. We love you.
