EADES, Dorothy Marie Eckert, 95, passed away on November 20, 2021, after a brief battle with leukemia, one month shy of her 96th birthday at the home of her daughter in Hayes, Virginia. She was born on December 19, 1925 to Frank L. and Regina Beck Eckert. Dorothy attended St. Elizabeth's School and graduated from St. Patrick's. She married the love of her life, Charles Eades in 1946 and they raised seven children together. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; her husband, Charlie; daughters, Nancy E. Davis and Cathy M. Eades; son, Richard G. Eades. She is survived by her sons, Charles H. Jr. (Joan), Michael A. (Cathey) and Gregory J. (Jill); daughter, Robin E. Koch (Michael); a multitude of grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy retired from C&P Telephone Company of Virginia. She enjoyed many years of river life with family and friends in their cottage on the Rappahannock. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Timothy's in Tappahannock, Va. and St. Therese in Gloucester, Va. Several years after Charlie passed away, she moved in with her daughter in Gloucester. She was the last of the Greatest Generation in our family who taught us much about faith, family and love. Dorothy was a beautiful, gracious and kind woman. She will be greatly missed by all. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., November 23 at Bliley's, 8510 Staples Mill Road, in Richmond. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., November 24 at Our Lady of Lourdes, 8200 Woodman Road, in Richmond, with visitation at church beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to the America Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org/donate or The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at givenow.lls.org.
