JEFFERSON, Deaconess Dorothy Tilton, also known as "Baby Sis," "Dot," or "Mrs. J" to those closest to her, 85, of Goochland, Va., departed this earthly life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. She was the fourth child and second daughter born to Frank L. Tilton and Jennie Cox Tilton. In 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, Junious Porter Jefferson, to whom she remained married until his death in June 2000. From this union, five children were born, Junious P. Jefferson Jr., who preceded his mother in death (birth 1956/death 1962), Jarvis W. Jefferson, Jonathan P. Jefferson, Stephanie Jefferson Henry and Yvette O. Jefferson; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Rock Jefferson; sons-in-law, John O'Neal Henry and Kevin F. Sellars; grandchildren, Shaderra, Jordan and Lauren Jefferson, Tamera and Tyra Henry; sisters, Margaret T. Anderson and Elnora G. Tilton; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Jefferson, Mary W. Tilton and Irene M. Tilton. Additionally, she leaves stepdaughter, Joan Cellier and her husband, Pascal; stepgrandchildren, Caroline, Fabien and Amelie Cellier; greatstepgrandson, Nathan Harnay, all of St. Sulpice, France; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and an abundance of friends. Her remains rest at the Robert Mealy Funeral Home, 2530 Dogtown Rd., Goochland, Va., where a walk-through viewing will be held on Monday, February, 22, 2021. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral services will be private and limited to the immediate family by invitation. A public graveside burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Emmaus Baptist Church, 2104 Sandy Hook Rd., Goochland, Va. Rev. Tommy Fleming, pastor, officiating.
