September 6, 1934 - December 17, 2025
Earlene Jernigan Mitchell, 91, of Ashland, Virginia, went to be with The Lord on December 17, 2025. Earlene was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Earl Jernigan and Lenora Mary Copeland Jernigan, as well as her sister, Lauretta Ann Jernigan. She is survived by her husband, Larry B. Mitchell; children, Larry J. Mitchell and Mark D. Mitchell (Vicky); grandchildren, Gennifer M. Calabrese, Charlotte M. Green, Mary M. Martin, Matthew J. Mitchell, and Michael L. Mitchell; and great-grandchildren, Anna M. Calabrese, Caleb S. Martin, and Raymond L. Mitchell. Earlene and Larry were married for 74 years. She was a well known artist who was much appreciated in her community. Her contributions to the arts have left a lasting impact on those who knew her. She was a cherished member of the First Baptist Church of Ashland, where she will be missed.
A service will be held at First Baptist Church of Ashland on Friday, January 9, 2025, at 11 am.
