Edith Ashworth Obituary

Mrs. Edith P. Ashworth, 87, of Chase City, whom God blessed and truly loved, passed away February 23, 2005 at Amelia Nursing Center. She was the widow of Lynwood Ashworth and was preceded in death by her son, Alan Ashworth. She was a retired employee of Wachovia Corporation and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Frances Ashworth of Chesterfield; granddaughters, Sharon Vaughan of Chesterfield, Lisa Stephenson of Amelia and Linda Weston of Chesterfield; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Weston, Daniel and David Stephenson. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Chapel, Chase City. Interment in Woodland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Chase City Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 81 or Chase City Fire Department, P.O. Box 595, Chase City, Va. 23924. Condolences may be expressed to the family at [email protected]

I continue to think of you, Frances, Linda, Lisa & Sharon and all the family in the loss of Edie. It was especially good being with you for the service on Saturday. Edith was a very special and brave lady. There is a lot to be learned from the life she lived. My prayer is for God's blessings of peace, comfort and love to each of you.

To Granddaughter's & Nieces of Edith. Edith was my father's first cousin and that would make her my second cousin. I never met Edith but we corresponded many years at Christmas by exchanging cards and notes. I know she was a "special lady" and will be missed by all of you.
