Deborah Charles Obituary
She was born on March 23, 1952, in Gary, W.Va. to her beloved parents William and Sue Terry.
Debbie had a long and meaningful career in public service as an Administrative Professional. She proudly served as Board Secretary for more than 30 years at the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dennis Charles; son and his wife, Michael Charles (Jessica Jones); granddaughter, Johannah Jones; four sisters and their husbands, Patricia Smith (Fred), Deanna Blankenship (Earl), Mary Jo Stanley (Ray) and Donna Moens (Andrew); sisters-in-law, Dawn Rezai (Hossein) and Dana Kidd; and seven nieces and seven nephews.
The family will receive guests for a vigil at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at the Basilica of Saint Andrew in Roanoke, Va. on Monday, September 22, 2025 at noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to one of the following charities: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children, or Samaritan's Purse.

So sorry to hear about Debbie's passing.
Please accept my most sincere condolences.
She and the family will be in my prayers.
I always remember her from Cursillo as being
soft spoken and pure of heart.
I just saw her obituary posting, had I known
I would have been there for the funeral Mass.

Debbie was always a sweet person and always had a smile on her face. I enjoyed knowing her from the youth group at St. Andrews where we shared many fun times. Whenever we would see each other we would ask about each other’s family. She was such a lovely person and will be dearly missed.

Debbie was such a kind person. I met Debbie when ours sons were in elementary school and played sports together. I think we moms of our boys always had a special relationship even when the boys got older. We hold special memories. She´ll be missed.
