Ellis B. Grady, Jr.
Grady, Ellis B. Jr., 92, of Chesterfield, departed this life on November 22, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis B. Grady, Sr. and Hazel G. Bryant; and his loving wife of 61 years, Pattie Munden Grady. They are finally together again. He is survived by his son, Ellis B. "Kip" Grady, III, wife Kelly; his daughter, Kimberlee G. Ames, husband Mark; cherished grandchildren, Kevin A. Hickey, Sean J. Hickey, Dixon A. "Alex" Ames and his wife, Kaitlyn, and Stefan C. Ames, as well as his little beagle, Joe. Ellis grew up in Richmond and graduated from John Marshall High School. He was a member of the JMHS Cadet Corp and served as Captain of A Company, 1952. After serving in the Army (Korean War), he returned home and attended RPI/VCU as well as Richmond College and U of R. He later became managing partner of Commonwealth Security Services. In 1979, he went to work for the Allen Law Firm. His total part and full time with the Allens amounted to 50 years. Ellis was the beloved voice of his son's power washing business, Beaver Power Wash, Inc., where he scheduled customers for his last 15 years. He was civic minded and was fortunate enough to give 36 years to the West Richmond Rotary Club, where he served as President and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a charter member of the Chesterfield Historical Society. Ellis loved fast pitch softball at his church until his body said, "that's enough". He was passionate about woodworking at which he spent countless hours crafting furniture for all that he knew. Ellis loved his wife and family more than anything else.
All services will be private at Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nest Academy RVA, 465 Broad Street Road, Manakin-Sabot, VA 23103.
