Emma Gail Huckstep Taylor

1953 - 2022

TAYLOR, Emma Gail Huckstep, a lifelong resident of Richmond, Va., peacefully passed away at the the age of 69, on January 29, 2022. She was born January 10, 1953 to Thelma Louisa Kirby and Richmond Edison Huckstep. She is survived by her children, Matthew C. Taylor and Crystal M. Taylor; along with her uncle, Wilford Kirby (lovingly known as "Uncle Dutch"); and the Kirby siblings, Brenda, Marshall, Robert and Kenney. Emma was a dedicated employee of the Richmond Federal Reserve Bank for over 40 years serving many different positions over the years, lastly being in data security. She graduated from Highland Springs High School, Class of 1971, where she was a member of Kappa Sigma Pi (sorority). She was a longtime member of Fairmount Methodist Church in Eastern Henrico. She will be remembered for her fun, lively personality, a smile that warmed the room and an unforgettable dedication to the ones she loved. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Bon Secours Community Hospice House for their high level of compassion, providing a peaceful and respectful environment during the last days of Emma's life. A celebration and memorial of Emma's life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1 p.m., Bliley's - Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond, Va. 23230.
