Eugene Maguire

September 1, 1939 - February 13, 2025

Eugene Maguire, of Moseley, VA, entered into eternal life on February 13th, 2025 where he reunited with his loving wife, Barbara and daughter, Jeanne. He is survived by his daughters, Teresa (Ken) Essigman , Cathy Kelley and his sons, John and William. He was cherished "Pops" to 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry. The family will receive friends, Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Pkwy, Chesterfield, VA 23832 with a memorial service and celebration of his life to begin at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knight of Columbus, Council 13170. St Gabriel's Catholic Church, 8901 Winterpock Rd. Chesterfield, VA 23832 or Hospice of VA (Addus Hope Foundation) [hospiceofvirginia.com/donate].

met Gene as a young firefighter when he was transferred to ladder 56 circa 1968. We met up again when I was promoted in 1989 to captain of Engine 21 n same Battalion as ladder 2 of which he served for many years.

Dear Cathy and Family,
My deepest condolences to all of you for the great loss in your lives!
Pops played many roles in his lifetime, a man of great wisdom. It was a pleasure to have known him!
I have wonderful memories of all the St. Patty´s Day celebrations that I shared with the family.
His jokingly sense of humor always gave me so many laughs and made me smile.
He has touched so many lives, he was your Pops, but also known as Pops to so many others.
In your hearts he will always be with all of you, and he will be your guardian angel forever!
I will always remember his great Characteristics of the person he was and hold onto the fond memories.
Heaven has received a great angel, and Pops is happily reunited with Nonny and Jeanne.
You´re all in my thoughts and prayer's.
