Departed this life September 8, 2003, Mrs. Evelyn Gallishaw, formerly of 2902 Idlewood Avenue. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Francine Gallishaw Puryear; two granddaughters, Yolanda Alexander and Lakeeya Puryear; four great-granddaughters, Pherin and Chance Alexander and TyJahne Davenport and Goddess Puryear; three nieces, Evelyn Johnson, Virginia Walker and Gardenia Green; three nephews, Woodrow Johnson, Hoover Johnson and Robert Lee Conyers; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins; and a grandson-in-law, Kermit Alexander; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Third Street Bethel A.M.E. Church, 614 N. Third Street. Rev. Arthur S. Jones, pastor, officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Family and friends assemble at the church 12:45 p.m. Friday.
