Frances Moore Lavender

LAVENDER, Frances Moore, 93, went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2021. She was born in Selma, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; and parents, Erastus and Sadie Moore. She is survived by two sons, Dan (Deborah) and Paul (Debbie) Lavender; grandchildren, Christopher, Paula, Matthew, Samuel and Andrew; and 11 great-grandchildren. Frances was an avid jogger, loved cats and worked as a secretary for two high schools for almost 30 years. She was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 64 years. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and led Neighborhood Good News Clubs for Child Evangelism Fellowship for many years. She helped with Women's Missionary Fellowship. A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 11 a.m., at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of Greater Richmond, P.O. Box 249, Sandston, Virginia 23150.
