Francis Wormald Obituary

WORMALD, Francis Alan, died peacefully at home on November 14, 2023, at age 86. He was born in St. Mary's Infant Asylum in Boston, Mass., and was soon adopted by Francis and Florence Wormald, super parents who raised him with his also-adopted siblings Janet Brown of Salem, N.H., and John Wormald, deceased.

By exactly five months, Alan was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Anita. He's survived by his daughter Karen Wormald of Midlothian, Va., and Keri Wormald (Al Albiston) of Richmond, Va., as well as a birth brother, James Glasgow of Plainfield, Ill.

Special thanks to his spectacular caregivers, Marilyn O'Neill of Legacy Hospice, Nemesia Aldrich and Isabel Tabadero.

Alan always said he was not easily impressed. No matter how cynical he became, he could not keep up. He joins his favorite comedian George Carlin in the search for a supreme being and leaves his friends with this farewell, "Y'all be well, be safe, be happy. That's all, folks."

I can´t believe Alan is gone five short months after Anita! Karen and Keri, my thoughts are with you. To lose both parents in such a short time span really hurts, I´m sure, and two such loving, caring parents. My heart is broken. I didn´t know Alan well, but I loved your mother. She was a true spitfire, and I was positive she would outlive me. And whenever she spoke of your dad, her eyes lit up, just as they did when she spoke of her girls! Hold those precious memories of both your parents in your hearts, treasure them always!
