Mr. Chlorie was the tecaher who helped me continue my passion for music. He was my teacher for the 2012-2013 year to the year i left elko middle school. He was a tough and fair teacher who always had his students backs. I had the honor of seeing him my senior year of high school when we came a performance for the middle schoolers. I saw him walking and tapped him and said "Hey Mr. Chlorie, how ya doin!" And his face lit up and he asked what i was doing there! I told him i was now the bassist and a vocalist for the Varina Highschool choir. I will never forget him and everything he did for me during those difficult years in my life. I still follow the path of music to this day.

Mr. Chlorie was my band teacher at Elko, almost 16 years ago. I now own a Recording Studio (VERIFY Recording Studio) in Richmond Virginia and daily I'm reminded of the hardcore music skills instilled in me from this man. Just finding out about his passing, may he rest in peace and his family be blessed. He's inspired many young kids like me to be great not just in music, but in life.

I just saw this announcement. I´m so sorry for the loss to all who knew Frank. I picked Frank to be one of my Drum Majors when I was Band Director At HSHS. I was new, but I knew I saw something special in Frank. Boy was I correct. He applied a passion and energy to every task.. and refused to accept failure. Frank´s compassion and perception of others brought him to have many private conversations with me when he saw I was struggling and/or down. He saved me.. and I don´t think he ever knew it. I love that young man I met in 1978 and followed his very successful career from a distance all these years. To family and friends there are no "right" words that change this.. we all know, he grew from a great kid to a man well loved by all of us. I know God is loving his hugs and graciously adding Frank to the music department in Heaven. Love you, Bill

Mr. Chlorie was my band instructor at Deep Run HS in 2004-2006, I was a freshman and sophomore under his instruction. He helped me fall in love with marching band and was a huge supporter of my being in a more advanced ensemble as an underclassmen. He was a passionate and talented man. As a HCPS colleague of Frank, we
will miss this phenomenal educator
who was able to impart his gifts into
thousands of students to include
my son. He asked Chenaniah to
come back and share his gift of
teaching with Elko percussion students. I loved him as a kind
and compassionate gentle man
of God. We miss your presence but
we know as scripture reveals, To be
absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!

I worked with Frank at Highland Springs HS. First he was a cast member when I directed Bye Bye Birdie. Second he was the band director for the musicals when he returned to the the Springs in the late eighties. I would often run into Frank at various Henrico County meetings and we would hug, laugh and share memories. He was a treasure as a student, a teacher, a friend. I send hugs and love to his family and friends. He will definitely be missed.

My sincere condolences on the loss of such a special man. His musical talents go beyond words. His relationship with his students was extraordinary. They liked and respected him. As a band parent, I can attest to his unwavering respect for his devotion the schools he taught at..how lucky Henrico County was to have him teach and encourage music in it's curriculum.

I met Frank while attending VCU. We were both members of a Choir called The Second Coming. All of the members cared for each other like Family. We remained close after College and visited him several times in Virginia Beach where he lived for awhile. Wanda, his close friend for Life, Frank and I shared a lot of laughs together. I will forever remember his broad smile and playful manner. I´m sure he´s directing the Angels in Heaven singing Praises to God.

My son Christopher was in Mr. Chlorie band class 3 years at Elko. My son loved being in his class. In 8th grade they took my son out of his class and put him in art. I called the school to have his art class changed to band class. So I went to the to get my son's computer fixed. Guess who I saw in the hall Mr. Chlorie. I ask him if my son Chis could take his band class again. He said sure I would love to have Chris back in my class. My son was so happy to be back in band class. Now my son is at Varina. Mr. Chlorie thought a lot of my son. And my son thought a lot of Mr. Chlorie. Mr. Chlorie will be missed. Mr Chlorie was a wonderful band teacher and
friend. Prayers for the family

Frank and I became close friends in French class. He sat in front of me & we had so much fun learning French & making fun of it also! I will never forget his twinkling eyes & million dollar smile that would instantly light up a room! He was kind, genuine, handsome & a tad mischievous! Frank made this world a better place & I will never forget him! Condolences to his Father & Bridget. Our earthly loss is most certainly heaven's gain! Your family will be on my prayers!
