DULING, Col. Frank S. Jr., 89, retired Chief of Police for the City of Richmond, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, June 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wives, Irene M. Duling and Ruth Parsley Duling; his parents, Frank S. Duling Sr. and Margaret Duling Bayne; and his brother, Dalton R. Duling "Sgt. Santa." He is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Irene Duling; two grandchildren, Vanessa Anne Preston and Wayne E, Preston Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Darianne Irene Preston, Kaleb Dane Preston and Aidan Wayne Preston. He was a member of Northminster Baptist Church, a Past Master of Metropolitan Lodge No. 11 AF & AM., Past District Deputy Grand Master, a member of Richmond Scottish Rite Bodies, KCCH and a 33rd Degree Inspector General Honorary, York Rite Bodies, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, ACCA Temple Shrine, Past Patron of Blanche Spencer Chapter No. 11 O.E.S. and Past Worthy Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter of Virginia Order of the Eastern Star. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., with a Masonic Memorial Service being held at 7 p.m., and where a funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 7. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association
or the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Center at Richmond.
