Frederick True Given, Jr., passed away on October 29, 2025, in Norfolk, Va. Born on June 11, 1927, in Chase City, Va., he was a proud graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and the Medical College of Virginia. Fred had a distinguished career as a physician in OB-GYN Oncology. He was married for 72 years to the love of his life, Jane Ozlin Given. He is survived by Jane; his four children, Jeannette (Steve Kroner), Mary Jane (Jim Devins), Jeffress (Teresa), and Robert (Betsy); along with 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at Larchmont UMC on December 5, at 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Larchmont UMC or EVMS Foundation. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.hdoliver.com.

My thoughts and prayers to Dr Given's family and friends. I personally don't remember him, however, he is part of the reason I'm alive. He was working when I went into fetal distress, in 1975. Saving mine & my momna"s life. Thank you sir.

Dr.Given was my Gynecologist and a wonderful,kind,caring,humerous human being,to name a few adjectives to describe him. Dr.Given's expertise in Gynecology as a physician included, besides true professionalism,sensitivity in every form,whether a minor or major diagnosis. A true honor to his profession.
