So many fun memories with the two of you - we have so many great photos of Gary that will always remind us of his great sense of humor. The special gits we received every Holiday from Gary will be so much more meaningful in the years to come. Our thoughts and prayers are with you - and to Gary, Adios, Amigo! You will be dearly missed.

Dear Betty,
Although we have known each other for several yrs., I did not know Gary's health problems. He was a most enjoyable person to be with and talk with. My love, prayers and sympathy are with you. If only we lived closer, then we could comfort each other.
Please let me know if I can help you out at the beach.
My love to you and your family.

Betty, Erik and Family, please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss.
There are many things that can be said about Coach Evans—great coach, great mentor, great fighter, great person and much more. All of those things don’t come close to what the Coach meant to me and the many others that had the privilege to play for him and to know him. Gary was always there for us and the most important influence he had on me had nothing to do with winning a game. Rather, that influence can best be summed up by the George Patton quote “Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom”.
Thank you Coach for all the hours you spent coaching, teaching and helping us to become better people. Be at rest and at peace number 34—we will miss you and will keep you in our thoughts always. That’s a good man down.

Mrs. Evans and Erik:
Remember all the good times you shared together and know that he is looking down from above. I will always remember the times we spent together at Myrtle Beach, Disney World, and on Reservoir Lane. I can also thank Mr. Evans for introducing me to the summer sounds of Jimmy Buffett sitting out on the condo balcony in SC :) My thoughts and prayers are with you both during this difficult time!
God Bless,
Michael

I remember when Gary was 18 and I was 9. We drove him to college in Elkins, WV. It seemed so far away. My heart was broken when we drove away, and I cried all the way home. My heart is broken now too. I will miss you so much Gary. Love, your sister Lindy
