Gary Webb Obituary

Our Pops, Gary R. Webb Sr., died Thursday, January 19, 2006, at the age of 71. A native of Lookout, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Fred and Hester Wooten Webb. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Quentin and Norman Webb; and sisters, Nelva Lee Webb and Lenna Branham. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy L. Webb; his children, Pamela W. "Penny" Jordan, Gary R. Webb Jr. and wife, Sherry, Lisa Martin and husband, Cecil, and Tara M. McClanahan and husband, Baker; his grandchildren, Russell David, Amy Louise and Jacob Ryan Jordan, and Kyle David and Erika Rae Webb; his brothers and sisters, Arnold, Randall, Gene and Paul Webb, Shirley Robinson and Sue Robinson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special feline friend, Boots. Mr. Webb was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from MCV Hospital in 1997, after 40 years as an electrical supervisor. He was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan and had a great love of music. He was an accomplished guitar player and had performed with many bluegrass bands in the Richmond area. His family will receive friends on Sunday, January 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., where funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment at Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Richmond S.P.C.A. You will be greatly missed, Pops!
