PATE, George Francis, of Hopewell, Va., was born June 13, 1941 and passed away on July 11, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Milford and Mary Best Pate; and his sister, Linda Santmier. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Ormand Pate. He is also survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Charle' and Michael Gouyer and Nicole and Keith Gore. He was the grandfather of George, Grace and Gabriella Gouyer and Sydney and Payton Gore. He is also survived by his brother, Louis Pate Jr. and his wife, Joyce; sister, Elizabeth Perkinson and her husband, William; and brother-in-law, Jack Santmier. A Celebration of Life will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association (heart.org) or the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) in George's memory.

I have fond memories of visiting George and Linda while on our honey moon on the outer banks. Wonderful hospitality. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who loved George.
