Gloria Golas Ford

1950 - 2023

Gloria Golas Ford, 73, of Midlothian, VA passed away on 9/9/23, following a courageous battle with cancer over the last year.

Gloria was born in Meriden, CT on 9/3/50. She graduated from Platt High School and went on to receive a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University.

Gloria was married to Martin Ford (Marty) on November 26, 1994; they were married for nearly 29 years.

Gloria worked for several years in medical facilities in Connecticut. She finished her career as the Medical Relations Officer for Social Security Disability in Richmond, VA. Her primary interest in later years was sewing. This hobby turned into a small business (Peapod Stitchery) where she and Marty made and sold items at farmer's markets for 6 seasons. Her main charity was Sanctuary Rescue, Inc.

Gloria is survived by her husband (Marty), her son and his wife (Jim and Emily) her brother and his wife (Jack and Maggie), nieces and their families (Kate, Jennifer, and Amy), and other family, friends, and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Sanctuary Rescue, Inc. in Midlothian, VA (see sanctuaryrescue.com for the Donate button). The family wishes to thank the dedicated and professional staff at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute, Johnston Willis Hospital, and Chippenham Hospital, who fought alongside her all the way.
