Harold Cooper Obituary

Harold R. Cooper Sr., of Richmond, departed this life after a brief illness on August 20, 2005, at the McGuire Veterans Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, James Alexander Cooper Sr.; his brother, Michael J. Cooper; his son, Michael Ross; and his wife, Madeline Newsome Cooper. He is survived by his mother, Cora Tyler Cooper; two daughters, Patrice L. Cash-Spriggs (Gerald) and Carol Sherman McCowan (William); one son, Harold (Jay) R. Cooper Jr.; three brothers, Arthur J., James A. Jr. (Barbara), and David A. Cooper; five sisters, Ollie M. Charity, Bobbie J. Harris, Annette Nichols, Rosalind M. Cooper and Jacqueline A. Cooper; grandchildren, Wayne Cash Jr. (Brenda), Minister Jerome Sherman Jr., Stuart A. Cash III, Catrice L. Sherman, LeKeshia, and Ephonia; great-granddaughter, Johanna; great-grandson, Ronald; one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, among them one devoted, Juanita W. Ferrell. Remains rest at the W.S. Watkins & Son Funeral Home, 2700 North Avenue. Homegoing services will be held on Friday, August 26, at Sharon Baptist Church, 21 E. Leigh Street. Minister Jerome Sherman Jr., officiating. Interment in Amelia Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make donations to the Sharon Baptist Church's Building Fund in Harold's memory.
