Harrison Seigla Obituary

Harrison Seigla

May 2, 1954 - November 24, 2025

Harrison Marion Seigla, 71, of Mechanicsville, Va., was united with his God and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, November 24, 2025, after battling various complications from heart and arterial disorders for decades. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Norman Seigla; his mother, Mary Neal Seigla Williamson; and his step-son, Matthew Todd Bowman. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of forty years, Marian Mowbray Seigla of Mechanicsville, Va.; his two sons, Brian Seigla and wife, Sara of Mechanicsville, Va., and Drew Seigla and wife, Stephanie of New York City; grandchildren, Wyatt Seigla of Mechanicsville and Brooke Bowman and husband, Mason of Raleigh, N.C.; his sister, Alice Russell of Halifax County; brother, Tim Seigla and wife Deena of Mechanicsville, Va.; brother, Joe Seigla and wife Faye of Greensboro, N.C.; adopted sister, Lorrie Rodriguez of Alton, VA; and brother-in-law, Charles Mowbray of Alpharetta, Ga. In addition, Harrison is survived by his beloved friends, Sharon Dove, Judy Gaulding, Haden Riddick, Jeff Hiestand, Michelle Robbins, Holly Austin, Dr. Michael Davis, and Mickey Wilkerson, mother of son, Brian. Growing up in South Boston, Va., Harrison joyfully pursued artistic hobbies such as singing solos at Berry Hill Baptist Church, starring in community theatre musical productions, and singing amongst the tenor section of The Community Choral. In addition, he still holds the title of youngest "Grand Master" at the Faulkner Memorial Masonic Lodge No. 91. Harrison built a career spanning nearly twenty years with Prudential Life Insurance. As a sales manager, he earned top manager of their South East region in 1998. He volunteered nine years at the Atlee Station YMCA, serving on their Board of Management as Board Chair from 2020-2021, and eventually as Annual Campaign Chair, inspiring others to strengthen the YMCA community through their philanthropic support. Harrison enjoyed cooking meals for his loved ones, Alabama football, westerns, comedies, playing guitar, writing poetry, listening to music, singing, American History, and spending quality time with his family over "belly laughs." He was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and husband. His legacy can be summed up in one word: generosity.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Discovery United Methodist Church, 13000 Gayton Rd, Richmond, VA 23233. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the Atlee Station Family YMCA, 8017 Rutland Center Blvd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116.

Earlier today

Harrison was a renaissance with so many talents and the biggest heart of anyone I know. Also the most well dressed man and always had his pocket handkerchief. We volunteered together at the YMCA and had so many good times together. I miss him dearly and think of him whenever I enjoy a glass of nice Cabernet. Much love and prayers to his family.
