Louise, Bonnie, Rob, Amanda, and Family:
I have been around Herbert all of my life. Growing up in the same neighborhood gave me a wonderful role model as a child. I can see Herbert now cutting the grass in his white shirt! He was a good, clean, truly Christian man. He lived the real life of a Christian. He didn't just show up at church and forget it when he came home . . . oh, no. That would never have been his way. He raised his children to be the same way too.
You could just go on and on about all the good things Herbert did on this Earth and also left behind as memories. If we all learned just one thing from him, his trip here was worthwhile.
Louise and Bonnie especially, I know it's going to hurt and be lonesome at first, but we all know where Herbert is now. He is definitely at Peace with his Lord and that is what we all strive for as we rest at the end of the day. You must go on with your duties and keep your spirits up like he would want you to do and share "his ways" with as many as possible.
Louise, you have been a wonderful wife. You have been by his side day and night through all of this and he must have known he picked a real special girl 64 years ago. You are a very strong and loving lady!
With Love,
Norman Graham

Louise, It was sad but a wonderful service. I know he looked down and smiled on us today, well pleased. Herb was among the greats. It was evident he made a lot of friends. He was very generous with trash cans and other items that I have around the house. I want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers as you try to adjust to a new way of life without him. Let me know if I can help in some way.
Sincerely,
Norman D. Graham

Herb was one of the greatest men I have known. He was a friend and Brother in Christ and through Northside Lodge. His strength in enduring his physical pain was an inspiration to me. His quiet manner, friendly smile and warm, firm hand shake will be remembered.

We always think we'll have more time. Maybe next weekend, or weekend after that. Someobody is sick, there's work, a birthday party and then time has gotten away from us. Our biggest wish is that we had made a little more time to be with grandaddy and you. Time to make some changes. We love you Grandma,

Dear Louise and family,
Herbert was one of the finest Virginia "gentleman" we've ever known! He was kind to everyone he met, he loved the Lord, and he had a pure heart! He will be missed!
You are in our hearts and prayers.
