J. Shelton Obituary

SHELTON, J. Hathaway, 65, of Kilmarnock, died December 6, 2008. He was a lifelong waterman, a member of Claybrook Baptist Church, and an avid cat lover and caretaker of cats. He is survived by his wife, Carole B. Shelton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven J. and Kelly Shelton of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Michael Lee and Karen Shelton of Weems; four grandchildren, Casey Lee Shelton, Elizabeth Nicole Shelton, Lindsay Carole Shelton and Danielle Lynn Shelton; a sister-in-law, Ann Shelton of Weems; and a brother-in-law, Gene and his wife, Nancy Benson of Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Lee Shelton; and his parents, Joseph P. and Dorothy K. Shelton. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 11 a.m. at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League, P.O. Box 975, White Stone, Va. 22578.
