J. Hathaway Shelton

SHELTON, J. Hathaway, 65, of Kilmarnock, died December 6, 2008. He was a lifelong waterman, a member of Claybrook Baptist Church, and an avid cat lover and caretaker of cats. He is survived by his wife, Carole B. Shelton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven J. and Kelly Shelton of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Michael Lee and Karen Shelton of Weems; four grandchildren, Casey Lee Shelton, Elizabeth Nicole Shelton, Lindsay Carole Shelton and Danielle Lynn Shelton; a sister-in-law, Ann Shelton of Weems; and a brother-in-law, Gene and his wife, Nancy Benson of Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Lee Shelton; and his parents, Joseph P. and Dorothy K. Shelton. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 11 a.m. at the Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League, P.O.
