Uncle Jack, as I called him, was a constant in my life for over 55 years. He loved collecting Chinese art, watching his Alma Mater basketball games, doing jobs at his farm, especially riding The Gator and so enjoyed their annual VA Beach Summer stays and other travels. Among the many interests and things he enjoyed, I believe his grandchildren brought him the most joy. While he often teased us all with his cheeky southern wit, he was always happy to sit down with his sweet tea for a long chat or host a lovely meal he had often prepared himself. He was a very strong and determined man who persevered when he simply could have relaxed a little more. Surrounded by his immediate family at the time he said his goodbyes, was a proof of a life well lived.
